Create a classroom environment where students feel safe making mistakes, taking risks and trying new things.

This website is dedicated to promoting inclusive schooling and exploring positive ways of supporting students with autism and other disabilities. Most of my work involves collaborating with schools to create environments, lessons, and experiences that are inclusive, respectful, and accessible for all learners.

DAY 1: “You’re Going to Love This Kid” DVD and Professional Development Kit

Posted on December 02, 2011 in News

So, my face is just a bit red as I recommend my new staff development film, You’re Going to Love This Kid, on day one- LOL!

Day 1: You're Going to Love This Kid DVD

It was so exciting to see the finished product after over three years of planning, organization, and collaboration. I love the classroom scenes in the film but I think I am even more proud of capturing the many voices of progressive educators, administrators, and parents. I am really hoping that folks will see the film, get ideas for practice, feel inspired by the message, and be moved to create change in their own school community. The film kit includes an hour-long movie, a shorter film of stakeholders answering 10 key questions, and a booklet of ideas for conducting 1/2 day, full day, or even a 2-day training on autism and inclusion. In just a few weeks, I’ll be sharing some clips from the film on this blog, but for now I will just link you to the trailer and purchase information. Happy viewing!

I just ordered this after hearing many great things about it. I can’t wait to get it and hopefully will have many opportunities to use in the very near future. Thanks for all you do to facilitate inclusive education.
