Encourage students to support each other, talk to each other, share ideas with each other. Liberally use pair-share structures, cooperative learning, class meetings, and small group structures.

This website is dedicated to promoting inclusive schooling and exploring positive ways of supporting students with autism and other disabilities. Most of my work involves collaborating with schools to create environments, lessons, and experiences that are inclusive, respectful, and accessible for all learners.

WEBSITE WEDNESDAY: Kaz Brook’s Blog

Today’s pick is another parent blog, Kaz Brook’s Blog; this one is focused on a little boy with autism.

I chose it because Kaz not only writes really lovely essays, but because she has some great posts related to inclusion. My favorite is her recent reflections on inclusion at the playground. It is a nice reminder about lessons of childhood and the power of community.
